I can hardly believe it's February already but your AHDI Board of Directors has already had its first meeting via webinar. This webinar technology allows your board to save a great deal of travel time and money for the Association. We've been using webinar technology for our regular monthly board meetings for quite some time but this was the first time we used it for what normally would have been our first quarter face-to-face meeting. The meeting was accomplished over two days for a total of about 6 hours and went extremely well. I wouldn't be surprised if this trend continues.
Our new President, Susan Lucci, RHIT, CMT, AHDI-F had each board member submit to her our goals for 2009 with regard to where we plan to place our emphasis on the various association initiatives. Of course, the major focus for me will continue to be Military Spouses and Workforce Development along with our Next-Gen Campaign, Advocacy, membership recruitment, and credentialing. I would appreciate hearing from those of you who keep up with this blog about these topics. Let me know how these initiatives are working in your area and let me know if I can be of any assistance to you regarding these or others.
In the meantime, I'm back to work full-time for Expert Medical Transcription and am enjoying the relative "down time" when compared to last year as president when the term "down time" was not in my vocabulary.
Finally, let me refer you to my recent article for Advance online at the following link:
