AHDI 30TH ANNIVERSARY ACE

Where do I start??? If you were there you know what an amazing meeting this was and if you missed it this year then all I can say is, "Start making plans now for Nashville next year!"

The AHDI staff did an absolutely AMAZING job putting this 30th Anniversary Conference and Expo together. Our Disney keynote started the conference off with a real bang. She was followed
by Linda Kloss, CEO of AHIMA who knocked it out of the park. The audience seemed to enjoy the panel discussion that followed Linda's presentation. Each and every speaker brought their "A" game and were very well received by our attendees. Our closing keynote, Dr. G: Medical Examiner brought the house down with enthusiasm prompting a standing ovation. Dr. G spent approximately 20 to 30 minutes prior to her presentation signing autographs and posing for photos. One member asked for her autograph on a human skull replica which Dr. G promptly utilized to offer an anatomy lesson proving the inconsistencies in this replica to the enthusiastic interest of the line of folks waiting for her autograph. Following her presentation Dr. G spent at least 30 to 40 minutes ensuring that everyone in attendance who wanted a photo or an autograph got one. She was as personable as she was informative and, I believe, has gained an even greater following for her Discovery Health television show in the process.

Our Saturday evening Anniversary Bash was hoppin' and the Beatles cover band had the dance floor full all night. The food was outstanding and, seeing our president-elect, Susan Lucci, pop out of a huge cake and proceed to do a little line dancing with about 15 members as her special way of introducing our members to the location of next year's meeting was something to see. I am so looking forward to doing a little boot scootin' boogie in Nashville for ACE 2009 -- how about you???
